Watershed Foundation

The Findley Lake Watershed Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving and protecting the health and beauty of Findley Lake. Through ongoing environmental efforts such as invasive species control, water quality monitoring, shoreline restoration, and community education, the Foundation works to ensure the lake remains a vibrant natural resource for generations to come. The FLWF is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the health of Findley Lake through three key efforts:

1. Water Quality:
FLWF leads efforts to maintain clean, usable water for all, working with the DEC and participating in a statewide monitoring program. Their work includes strategic weed harvesting, regular water sampling, and the safe use of herbicides to reduce aquatic weeds and harmful algae.

FLWF owns and maintains several important community spaces, including the dam, gazebo, boat launch, public bathrooms, waterwheel building, and docks ensuring these spaces remain safe and enjoyable for everyone.

3. Education:
The foundation provides resources and publishes guidelines to encourage community involvement and promote safe, respectful use of the lake, helping residents and visitors alike become stewards of this valuable resource.
